Now, for those of you who are regular readers of this blog, you know I will not go into the matters of theology here. I do my best to represent as simply problems that arise in scholarship and popular culture and when an issue like this (breaking with the theology and politics * * ... Yeesha ...) I have to do ...

The next clip showed YouTube three days ago and since then has had over 100,000 views:

I initially decided to shy away from this video clip, but when I saw that Salon.com had collected through my news feeds (if anything even mentions "Aramaic" on the Internet, I heard about it), I figured it was in the spotlight enough to finally comment.
So here is my analysis, theology and politics 100% eliminated. This is a look at the real demands of the video. The following transcript is reproduced in Fair Use Doctrine for the purposes of criticism in a manner consistent with the existing protections and resolutions:
Luke 10:18:
And he said unto them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
"These words are written in Greek and translated into English, however, Jesus said these words originally in Aramaic, which is the oldest form of Hebrew.
As you know, the Old Testament was written in Hebrew. If a modern Jewish rabbi was to say these words of Jesus today, he speaks in Hebrew, just as Jesus had told them. "
Wrong Claim: Aramaic no is the oldest form of Hebrew. Since Hebrew is a Canaanite language, the oldest form of Hebrew would be proto-Canaanite. Ancient Galilean Jesus spoke Aramaic, which is part of the Aramaic language family. Finally, the Canaanite and Aramaic language families go back to proto-Semitic, but that is beyond the scope of this statement. The two languages are very different.

So what are words for 'lightning' and 'high' or 'heaven' in Hebrew?
From Dictionary Strong's Hebrew word # 1299: A primitive sense of the word root "to clarify" or "lightning" or "cast out" - the word is "Barac.
In Hebrew Dictionary Strong # 1300: 'Ray' or by analogy "a flash, sword flashing, or brightness or shining "- the Hebrew word is" Baw-Rawk "
Thus, "Ray" or "a flash of light" in Hebrew is pronounced "Ba-rak" or "BAW" Rawk "
Correct Claim: Barac is the Hebrew word for 'lightning'. In Aramaic, is also its cognate "Barac" or "Barqa" depending on dialect and context.
Wrong Claim: Obama's name comes from the root "Barac" [] Poker-Rish-qof but the root "Barak"] [bet-Rish-caf and is a common Semitic name meaning "blessed" or "blessing." To say that these two words are the same, is like saying that the "right" and "write" is the same word as sound similar but both are very different etymology.
Now consider this amazing fact: The Book of Isaiah is the source of origin of the Christian conception and understanding of Satan or 'Lucifer' as Isaiah called in Chapter 14, especially in verses 12-19.
Wrong Claim: Isaiah does not call Lucifer Satan '. " Latin translations of Isaiah use the name 'Lucifer' (which literally means the morning star "" "star in the morning "or the planet Mercury) as a translation of the Hebrew phrase [" Hillel ben Shakhar "=" morning star, son of the dawn. "]
In Isaiah chapter 14 verse 14 'Lucifer or Satan is credited with these words:
"I will ascend above the heights of the clouds will be like the Most High. "
In the verses of Isaiah that refer directly to Lucifer, is mentioned several times that Satan has reduced from "high" or "heaven."
The Hebrew word used in the text for the hills "from which Satan fell is strong Word 1116 in Hebrew, pronounced "Bam-maw."
Bammaw is most commonly used to refer to a high "sacred place" and as the heights''to 'heaven' or 'clouds. "
Comment: The actual form of the word is used in Isaiah 14:14 ["Bamathe"]. Only in the shape of the root which is pronounced "Bah-mah."
Correct Claim: ["bama"] means "high place."
Comment: ["bama"] 's primary meaning is "sanctuary." The "High" places mentioned in the King James Version of the Bible describe altars built up that were used in religious practice throughout Mesopotamia.
Wrong Claim: ["Bama"] does not mean "heaven" or "clouds."
Comment: "Heaven" in Hebrew is ["-ha shemayim "], where Aramaic is [" shmaya "].
In Hebrew the letter Waw is often transliterated as a "U", students use the "O" of this transcript. It is primarily used as a conjunction to join concepts together. So, to join in Hebrew poetry the concept of lightning or "BAW-rawq 'and the high or the sky or the heights of heaven, the letter" U "or sometimes" O "the Hebrew letter waw is used.
So that "O Barac" Bam-maw "or" U "Barac 'Bam-maw" in Hebrew poetry written in similar style would translate literally Isaiah as "Lightning and heights" or "heaven" or "Lightning Heights" or "heaven" or "heaven."
Correct Claim: Waw is used as a conjunction.
Wrong Claim: Waw, such a conjunction is never an "O" sound. In Hebrew, as a conjunction would be pronounced "veh-" "-u" or the ancient Hebrew "Weh". " In the dialect of the Aramaic Jesus, it would be pronounced "weh" or "u" in terms of vocal placement.
Wrong Claim: Waw, not as a conjunction means "."
Comment: ["Barac us-bama" or "u-Barac vamah" because of pronunciation rules] would "The lightning and the Sanctuary."
The word "Satan" is sah-as in Hebrew, a direct translation.
Correct Claim: satan [""] is the Hebrew and Aramaic word for "Satan."
So back to prophesy of Jesus in Luke chapter 10, verse 18. If they speak of a Jewish rabbi today, influenced by the poetry of Isaiah, would say these words in Hebrew, the words of Jesus in Luke Chapter 10, verse 18 as:
"And I saw how Satan Barac u-Bama."
Wrong Claim: In light of recent comments in Hebrew would be more likely [Barac min] shamayim-ha. In Aramaic, it is likely to have been [Barqa shmaya min].
Did Jesus reveals to us the name the Antichrist?
I report, you decide.
Comment: I think that in light of the languages in question, it is clear that this entire argument, theology and strict policy aside, is clearly based on several faulty premises.
