Pro Tools is the industry standard and because many people who register in the country assume it must be the best option for them. They are wrong. On the one hand Home Recording Pro Tools version is different to that used in the studies. The studio version is Pro Tools HD while recording version home is Pro Tools LE. The LE version is significantly limited in comparison.
Reaper is a low cost alternative to Pro Tools. Reaper can be purchased for only $ 50 and you can try a fully functional demo for free. But even if they were more expensive Reaper Pro Tools, I still would choose it. The lowest price is just icing on the cake for me.
Reaper is faster and more intuitive than Pro Tools. It is also totally unlimited. You can use any hardware with her and all kinds of plugins. No way can anything else. As you begin to learn how to use it floored by the possibilities. It is a great improvement compared Pro Tools.
Another great thing about this new alternative to mix and produce music is the great support available. There is a very useful forum and there is even a wiki with information on how to use it.
There is a real sense of community and a real sense that the developers of the software (which also created the legendary WinAmp) are really on your side instead of trying to work against you. If you are new to the recording then I definitely recommend you check out. And if you're someone who believes that Pro Tools should be the right choice because it is the industry standard "you really need to think again.
