Mad Men and Prophits

What would the world be like without Mad Men and Prophits?

Written by Jade at www.morethenjustreading.com

As I sit and ponder life on this lifeless Saturday, in my house, with my 92-year-old Grandmother who’s life is slowly counting down. I’m going to make a comparison; this idea struck me while I was watching a Steven King movie called Salem’s Lot.

This comparison is probably going to piss a lot of people off, but I found it interesting and I thought my readers might find this comparison interesting too. My friend calls me a radical, because I have radical ideas, this is probably one of the most radical ideas that I’ve had lately. OK, I believe that Jesus’ doctrines that him and his religious group had spread throughout the world are responsible for an untold number of faceless victims deaths, throughout the centuries.

I believe, that the only problem with most prophets is that they never think past their own life times and maybe they never thought about how their doctrines might effect mankind’s future generations. Christianity has caused a lot of prejudice and hate throughout the world and has blown the lights out for many great thinkers threw out antiquity. If there ideas didn’t coincide with church doctrine, they were either imprisoned or killed. So now that I have gotten that idea out of the way, let me move on to my next idea, the radical idea.

Is Jesus Christ any different then Adolph Hitler? My first example of how they might be the same is that Jesus’ doctrines were supposed to be based on love, but in the end he allowed himself to be sacrificed for the supposed benefit of all mankind. The question that I have is; “since when has ending ones life benefited mankind?” What I mean is nobody really believes, that when a suicide bomber blows himself up in the name of God; that he really was doing it for god. I also remember reading somewhere, that most of the followers that Jesus had at that time, wound up getting tortured or killed, which has a really weird similarity, to what happened to all of Hitler’s loyal soldiers, who were killed or committed suicide.

So now I’m going to compare Jesus to Hitler. Hitler made people believe that if they followed him he would create a new and better society for them. Jesus told people to give up all of their personal belonging and follow him and that the only way you could go to Heaven was by believing in him. Hitler had 1000’s of followers who loved him and some “insane people” still think Hitler was a great man. Jesus had 1000’s of followers too, both had people who sang praises to them, both have had people who where willing to kill for them and their beliefs and both winded up choosing death. Hitler chose death to escape from being persecuted and because he didn’t want to live in a world that didn’t include his master plan. Jesus chose persecution because he wanted to save us from our sins.

Is their any difference in choosing death, rather then facing the music in Hitler’s case or choosing to escape and living out the rest of his life and teaching everyone the way in Jesus’ case? Either way murder or suicide is never something that needs to be included in the building of strong nations or when building new religions. I compared both of these very different men to make a point, that their doctrines and personal believes were ultimately responsible for millions of voiceless victims and millions have lost their life’s and their families because of these men’s erroneous believes. I also believe, that if both of these men would of thought about what their actions would do to the future of mankind, then maybe they would have changed their way of thinking. Often times, I have pondered what the world would have been like without men like these. Would the world have been better or worse? What I wrote, that you have read, was just a deep thought I was having.
