Caring for your tattoo
Getting a tattoo is fun and exciting - but also responsibility. It is extremely important that you take care of your New Tattoo carefully to ensure it heals properly. Ignoring your new tattoo or treating the wrong way can result in infection, which could permanently alter the color and shape of the image that has ink.
The basic supplies needed to care for your new tattoo are:
-Wipe
"Loose clothes
Antibiotic soap
-Sunscreen
-Skin Lotion
"Antibiotic Ointment
To get the best care your tattoo is possible, here are some steps to follow:
1.Do not remove the bandage on your tattoo for at least two hours after it is complete, or more if indicated. The bandage protects you from bacteria and infection.
2.When ready, remove the bandage carefully and discard. Now, the tattoo can breathe and begin to heal. No re-sold.
3.Wash the tattoo very gently with antibiotic soap, then rinse with warm water and pat dry with a dry towel. Do not rub the tattoo dry or use a paper towel.
4.Use antibiotic ointment. Dab a little on the entire tattoo. Avoid ointments that are zinc, as it is known to cause a reaction in some people. Some tattoo parlors offer their own brand of perfume manufactured specifically for tattoos, you might want to buy, although pharmacy ointment should be equally effective.
5.Lightly apply antibiotic ointment for a few days, and then you can switch to a lotion unscented skin.
6.While air is good for healing a tattoo, the sun is not. If you plan to be out in the sun apply sunscreen first.
7.During the healing process is advisable to avoid excessive exposure to water. This means that a daily schedule is fine, but no baths or swimming for a week or two.
Here are a few tips to help your tattoo heal properly:
Zero-NO or pick at scabs that form on the tattoo, which can cause a scar and ruin your new tattoo. Instead apply a moist compress for 5 minutes several times a day, will help the scab to fall.
"It is best to wear clean, loose on the tattoo until it heals, which is about two weeks.
-Continue to have sunscreen on your tattoo, even after it heals, this will prevent burns and discoloration.
If at any time during the healing process that feels the tattoo does not heal properly, should consult your doctor. Signs of infection may include itching, unusual extreme swelling, fever or rash. There is also the possibility of an allergic reaction why health care is so important.
