I grew up around dragons. No, not mythological, but I think I would have liked. (If they were something like Draco - the dragon from Dragonheart). No, I was one of the products of the 1980s - the decade of Dungeons & Dragons. I've had crazy adventures with my brothers and sister who tormented me for life! On the other part, from a D & D to another player - Never let your brother the Dungeon Master - always cheat!
I never got into the mystique behind the winged creatures, but my sister became the resident expert in our house. (That is, if my mother did not include fire-breathing when she was angry) My sister took to collect small figurines Dungeons & Dragons - Specifically dragons. When 1994 rolled around, he got his first tattoo of dragon on his shoulder upper left.
She never had a lot of dissension to get a dragon, as I did when I got my fairy tattoo. I really an artist wondering if I were a lesbian to be naked women tattoos on my legs! What the hell? Why was not my sister accused of the same, since it seems that Dragons tend to be more in men than women? Hmm - must still have some unresolved issues between brothers buried somewhere! Anyway, the reason for Dragons enjoy as much as they had actually made obstacle for an explanation.
"I've always liked the idea of dragons, and I think it all started when I saw the movie The Neverending Story. In the movie, the dragon looked like a golden retriever albino. After that, I started them and by their need protecting and storing treasures. I do not know - I guess he liked the idea of dragons are impervious to pain and danger. Oh, and I liked the idea of frying my enemies ashes! "
Dragons tended to their origin, once again, of eastern origin. Some believed that dragons protected to the deity, Buddha and Buddhism religion. Impervious to fire, dragons were considered gods and the sea water, with certain powers to influence the rain and storms in general. There are four guardians of those stories - one for each direction - North, South, East and West. The North was appointed guardian of Genbu, a green dragon that brought the winter. Suzaku, the red dragon of the South, was Summer carrier. The white American Dragon, Byakko, led to the fall of land. The guardian of the Eastern Seiryu, was a blue dragon associated with spring.
Maybe they love the dragon tradition because, like a lot of the creatures of the Orient, it shrouds the mysteries of life and values that must be met in order to achieve real understanding of ourselves. (Gads, I feel like Jack Handy's deep thoughts or something!) Either way, be construed as brave creatures protect and defend what they had been given charge. Why not ink on?
